I have had High BP since i was 17 and am now 35. I recently changed BP medication to try and get pregnant. I was responding well to those medications and have suddenly stopped responding to them. I went back to doctor and was put on different BP meds and they also have had no effect at all on my high pressure. What could of changed. I have never had problems with high pressure since starting medicine at 17.
Hi welcome to HCM. Sudden cessation of antihypertensive therapy can cause rebound elevation of your blood pressure. This can prove harmful in the context of your trying to become pregnant.I recommend you to regularly monitor your blood pressure and start yourself on blood pressure medications in consultation with your doctor.Reduce the intake of salt to less than 5mg a day.Have a beseline echo and consult your doctor for further queries. Thank you
