Suggest Medication For Increased TSH Value

Hi. My daughter is 15 years old. She weighs 44 kg and her height is 5.2 ft. She had a thyroid test on october 2014 and her results are: (after eating) T3- 85.06 mg/dl and T4- 6.6ug/dl and TSH-2.72 mIU/ml. She again had a test by july 2015 and her result are: (fasting) T3-44.30ng/dl and T4-2.80 ug/dl and TSH-75.77mIU/ml. she stopped her tablets by may 2015. Did that caused an increase in TSH value? What should i do next? What tablets are suggested? or can it be cured naturally without tablets?

Hello,
Welcome to Health Care Magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concern.
From the result of your daughter I see that they are in normal range for the first time when she made them on October 2014, and they aren’t at their normal range for the second check in at July 2015, for these second blood test checked T4 and T3 blood test are below their normal range and TSH has a high level for it normal range, and yes these occur because she stopped her replacement hormone cure.
She has a under function of thyroid gland(Hypothyroidism) and these is a permanent health status that she will live with it, and she will take the Levothyroxyn and monitor the T3 and T4 and TSH during all the time .Levothyroxin help to increase T4 and T3 and as a result decrease TSH level. I recommend you to follow up your daughter with an endocrinologist for this problem.
I recommend you also to avoid from the diet of your daughter all sorts of cabbages, broccoli because they can induce the hypo function of the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) that mean decrease T4,T3 and increase TSH level.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Kind regard,
Dr .Marsida JANKO
