I have had Squamous Melonoma remmmmmmmoved surgically in May 2014 & in July lymph nodes removed inthe groin area on each side. Incisions are well healed but infection has st in on right side. It is extrmely red & redness is spreading to my inner thigh. I have taken antibiotic but area is now very dark red, Have been put on Cipro again for 10 days. My clinic is closed for holidays until next week. Have an appt on the 12th. Would it hurt to swab down the ares with hydrogen peroxide? I use it on cuts etc & find it very good for any infection????????

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
Redness is indicative of infection, so a systemic antibiotic is needed.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have given you cefixime and ibuprofen orally and sumeg to apply locally after hydrogen peroxide wash.
Hope this suggestion will help you.
Good Luck.
