Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had rheumatic fever at age of 6, took medication for it for as long as 10 years and completely recovered. Now I am 30, I started to get knee joint pain again. What could be the reason and also please let me know if any medication needs to be taken
usually rheumatic fever does not causes pain after such a long time. I would suggest you to get MRI of the knee joint, and if there is any cartilage damage or any meniscus tear then it can be corrected through arthroscopic method. In this method there is very small incision is required. Patient can start walking from next day and there is no bed rest needed.
