in children, these symptoms are suggestive of Acute otitis media or hard ear wax ,which is plugging their External auditory canal. to differentiate between these two, ears must be examined. if it is ear wax, then syringing can be done to remove wax or wax solving ear drops along with pain killers are prescribed for few days to get wax soften. if it is acute otitis media then antibiotic, pain killers and nasal decongestants are prescribed.
