Suggest Medication For Low Thyroid Level While On Levothyroxine
my doctor prescribe Levothyroxine for low thyroid level, My question -are there vitamins that can help and not use prescribed medication? I am one who do not like taking drugs for any reasons. At 73 years of age, I feel fine. And last, will I have to stay on this medication the rest of my life once started?

Once thyroid hormone is low, thyroxine tablet is the only treatment available. There is no dietary replacement of thyroid hormone and yes, you will have to continue it for the rest of your life. If you do not take treatment, you can have serious consequences since thyroid hormones act on almost every tissue of the body.
