Hi ..my name is Lisha..from PR..ive been 18 days with chikungunya..supost not to repeat...an only last for 8days...my musle pain is the worst i can stand up...have to bebin bed ..i feel awful i used to be a very active person thats not..in bed..the pain is in wrist..knees...feet are swallen..really swallen...to stand up it hurts like they were broken...fever does not go..it comes and goes...i already went to doctor he said with time well go away but didnt gave me nothing to drink or to cure me..please advice me..What can i do.?.should i go back to the hospital ?i can live like this for ever ...please help im not the only one also my husband and kids not so severe like me..what can we use..??

hi
chikungunya is self limiting and will subside soon.for joint pains naproxen and actaminophen are good choices taken after mealsand taking pantaprazole daily on empty stomach.maintain fluid and electrolyte balance with fruit juices and semi-solid diets.If pain very severe then tramadol can be taken sos Show to a physician, if more than 3 weeks have passed and fever and joint pain persisting , a physician may like to add prednisolone
Do not despair the family may be treated similarly.Try some mobility mild movement exercises of joints to prevent jamming
