Suggest Medication For Pain In Thyroid Gland Due To Hyperthyroidism.
hello, I am 21 years old and I suffered from hyperthyroidism 2 years back but i still suffer from some the symptoms. My metabolism is still unstable and I have heart palpitations. I noticed today a weird kind of pain in my thyroid gland when yawning and i don't know what that means. Should I be worried? Thank You
Hello, I read carefully your concerns and understood your query. If your thyroid hormones ( Ft4 and Ft3) results to be still above the normal ranges, than the dose of metimazole should be raised. The pain that you described needs a detailed clinical examination and some further exams ( a full blood count, Protein C reactive, a neck ultrasound) to give you a proper diagnosis. You may take paracetamol or ibuprofen ( if no contraindications) as an analgesic for the pain. Hope the information will help. Best wishes, Dr.Mirjeta
