Suggest Medication For Peeled Skin With Blisters

I spilled gas 2 days ago on waist and some skin peeled and has some blisters on it . I washed it, put some triple antibiotic on it and bandaged it. There is a clear discharge now. It is very red and sore. Should I continue bandaging it with antibiotic cream?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Spilled gas on skin causes mild irritation.
In your case it has caused peeling of skin and blister formation.
In spite of washing and application of antibiotic cream it has clear discharge with redness and soreness indicating super infection.
You have to keep the area dressed in sterile gauze with antibiotic cream.
You need to take also a course of oral antibiotic preferably a combination of Cefixime (200 mg) and Dicloxacillin (500 mg) both twice a day for a period of 3-5 days.
As the infection gets controlled the raw skin area will heal up.

Regards
