I have been diagnosed with a perorated ear drum by an ENT. Although it feels like I can t hear I did pass a hearing test. I have persistant ringing and drumming in my ear. It constantly feels blocked up. I also now have been having headaches everyday that are not relieved with Tylenol or Advil. I was told my perforation is large about 1/3 of my ear drum. This has been since early July and hasn t healed on it own. I am trying to get some direction here. Should I have surgical repair or give more time to heal? Please help. Thanks.
Large perforation will not heal by itself. Needs surgical repair/ graft placement. U can leave it on it own if u don't wish surgery but u have to maintain it dry. Cipla drops/ ciplox D drops works well for the ear. Without surgery the ear can remain dry with care but hearing loss will persists.take anti inflammatories medication for the headache and to maximise healing
