My 15 year old has been vomiting for 3 hours. This has been happening for 6 months. Dr have diagnosed it to be stomach flu, gastritis, etc. At this moment she is moaning constantly. She needs immediate relief from the severe pain that spans her stomach. Please help with these symptoms, especially the pain.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 15 year old and understood the concerns. Recurrent vomiting with pain in abdomen explained all over abdomen can be due to one of the following reasons: Intestinal obstruction. worms or some other pathology which needs the following: X-ray of abdomen in standing position particularly when there is a pain in abdomen. Ultrasonography and CT scan of the abdomen Tests of stool, blood and urine. Clinical evaluation, examination and further investigations like Upper GI Endoscopy, colonoscopy by a Gastroenterologist, medical or surgical specialist. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and a plan for management. Since the suffering is for the last 6 months proper investigations are a must.
