Suggest Medication For Phlegm After Getting Cured From Cold

I had a cold about one month ago, but now I am still coughing up up phlegm here and there (mostly in the morning and when I'm trying to sleep at night). Sometimes it comes out like strings, what does this mean?

I have allergies, but they are not bothering me at all right now. I also have sports asthma but am not engaged in much physical activity because I am busy studying in grad school.

Thanks!

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Cough and phlegm as described by you are commonly seen in bronchitis and lung infection. You will require a chest x ray.
Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
