Hi I went to see my doctor last Friday for stuffy nose cough that I was spitting up alot of clear mucus at night I could not sleep she put me on asteroid casta I believe the name and antibiotic today was the last day for antibiotic steroid one more day left also she gave me a Robitussin with codeine for night well I want to cry still spit up mucus and have the cough but at times I feel good I dont have to be doing anything but I know its my chest
Thanks for your question on HCM. Since you are having recurrent symptoms, we need to rule out allergic rhinitis and allergic bronchitis in you. Your sneezing, stuffy nose and coughing especially in night, all favour allergic etiology. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Chest x ray to rule out infection . 2. PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out allergic bronchitis. So better to first diagnose yourself and start appropriate treatment. You may need intranasal spray, anti allergic, anti histamines and inhaled bronchodilators. Since all these drugs are prescribed medicines, better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
