Suggest Medication For Severe Cough And Nausea

I have had a nasty cough for over a week now. I have that raspy feeling/sound when I breath deeply, which in turn results in severe coughing fits. I also have been getting cold sweats during these. This is the worst cough I ve ever had. No fever, but some slight nausea/upset stomach from time to time. I m 29, and a smoker, but in generally good health/fitness.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since you are smoker, possibility of either bronchitis or lung infection is high.
Smokers have poor lung defense, so infections are common in them.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out bronchitis.
You may need antibiotics, antihistamines and inhaled bronchodilators with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
So consult doctor, first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
