Suggest Medication For Severe Pain In Left Shoulder And Arm Due To A Fall

Hi. I fell off my bed - embarrassing - but I landed on my left shoulder. I can move my fingers and elbow but I can t lift my arm. I do not think it s broken but there is throbbing pain below my shoulder. Should I go to the ER or wait and call my dr tomorrow.

I think there can be a minor hair line fracture or it can be a rotator cuff tear also. So I would suggest you to first get a x ray as soon as possible. This will give us idea about any damage to bone. If there is any fracture, then you will need immobilization.
If there is no fracture seen then It means there is damage to rotator cuff. Rotator cuff is group of tendon which helps in elevating our shoulder, so if there is damage to this then you can not elevate your shoulder as you ave mentioned. To confirm this you need to get a MRI of the shoulder and if it shows that there is cuff tear then you will need a arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
