Suggest Medication For Shingles

I have shingles and am taking meds cleared by my Doc to go back to work. The problem is my employers will not let me return because I am a waitress and are worried I will infect customers. Both the Health Dpartment and my Doc told them not true but they still refuse. I am in bad financial straights because of this What can I do to correct their misconception?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of shingles, my treatment advice is -
1. Maintain isolation for 5 - 7 days as it is contagious disease.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Oral antiviral like acyclovir 800mg five times a day and oral NSAID like ibuprofen twice daily are given for 5 days.
4. Sooner the treatment is started, better it will be for preventing post-herpetic neuralgia.

Thanks.
