Suggest Medication For Sleep Disorder Due To Migraines

Several years ago I was prescribed a medication to help me sleep in order to help me manage my migraines. I remember it was a word similar to Tofranil or Topamax, but I can t remember exactly what it was. It did help, but when my doctor retired, my new doctor did not prescribe it. Now, I am beginning to have migraines on a regular basis and I wondered if you can help me remember what the Rx may have been.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I understand your concern .

Topiramate is helpful for prevention of migraine.
It is used as prophylactic medicine.

It can be treated with prophylactic medicines like flunarizine / amitriptiline / topiramate / sod valporate / magnesium valporate / propranalol etc.

Acute migraine can be treated with medicine like analgesic and anti inflammatory medicines .
ex. Paracetamol and diclofenac etc.

Consult with your psychiatrist and get detail evaluation.
If you have diagnosed as migraine then they will provide you treatment.

Benzodiazapine like lorazepam and clonazepam will help you to revert back to normal sleep.

So consult psychiatrist and get help.

Happy to help you further .
Thank you .
