Suggest Medication For Small Sore On Inner Thigh
Hello, I have one small sore on my inner thigh, thought it may be a boil, but no puss, been there 3 mnths now, seems unable to completely heal on its own, started as a small smooth red bump, not itchy, not painful, but remains crusty & visible.....folliculitis? Will I need antibiotics, or is it likely to improve over time?...... it has improved, rather than got worse, but won t go away & I usually have no problem skin. Thanks in advance for your advice :-)

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small sore on inner thigh which could be due to fungal infection of thighs mainly Tinea, as it localizes on body folds and thigh area. It could be due to bacterial infection, folliculitis, allergic reaction or nodular scabies. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to worry about it. You shroud oral tablets of Terbinafine for 1 week. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of tiamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites. Avoid itching or pricking rashes. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
