Suggest Medication For Terminating A Pregnancy

Hello, my name is Christy. Actually I expected my menses to come on the 1st of July but due to some worries i've done pregnancy test because my menses usually regular. I've done the UPT test twice and the result is positive. I am quite worried now if im really pregnant because im not married. I want to have the baby but I cant because the guy already left me. Is it possible for me to abort the baby without surgery?? Im really sorry but i cant keep the fetus.

Hi,
I understand your concerns.

Yes, it is possible to abort the baby by taking medicines for pregnancies less than 9 weeks.
If you do not wish to keep this pregnancy, consult family physician /Gynecologist to abort the baby. Before the treatment it is important to have examination by her to make sure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and you do not have contraindications for the medications

In Medical abortion there are two types of medicines ( anti progesterone and prostaglandin) used for abortion. Medical abortion is about 95% effective. Most women ( 80%) abort within 24 hours of taking the second pill. Some take little longer. After aborting the pregnancy you may have light bleeding for two weeks. Get an ultrasound done after two weeks to make sure that the abortion process is complete.
If you have heavy bleeding (soaks 2pads/hour for more than two hours) or if the bleeding persists even after 2 weeks you must see your doctor.

To avoid such unnecessary stress I advise you to consult your doctor and start regular contraception like hormonal contraception or intrauterine devise as they are very effective in preventing pregnancy.
I hope I have answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further queries do contact me through healthcare magic
