Suggest Medication For Type 2 Diabetes Which Is Ranging Around 400

Sorry did not see you there. lol. I was diagnosed in November with Type 2 diabeties. Unfortunately I am being treated by V.A. hospitals. Last night my husband called 911 because my sugar was way over 400. So they got it down and sent me on my way. Tonight before dinner I took my sugar and it was 400. I went for a walk and have been drinking a lot of water. I just happened to come across you looking at what foods I can and cannot do. I have had so many web sites saying fill this out and we will send you a diabetic cooks book along with tracking sheets etc... So we all know VA is slowly killing all the veterans so I am pretty much on my own. I plan on just staying up and not sleeping until I can get some help from someone that trully cares and knows what they are talking about. I am the queen of insomina therefore I can stay up for days.

Thanks for the query. As you say, your sugars are around 400, so as per my experience, you should receive a combination of kral medications or insulin treatment. If a patient comes to me woth such sugar values, i will start him on metformin plus a sulfonylurea drug combination with optimum dose provided patient has no contraindication for the same. If not controlled in 1-2 weeks , long term insulin therapy is the solution. In eitherof the cacase, dietary modification and daily exercise is EQUALLY important.
