Welcome to healthcare magic
I am Dr Fahim and I will help you with your query

I have gone through your question. It appears to Urinary Tract Infection a bit worse then the previous episodes you had. AZO Tab are for only symptomic relief, it doesnt eliminate the cause of UTI.
If such a patient walk into my clinic I usually recommend Tab Ciprofloxacin 500mg 12hourly, Tab Paracetamol 500mg 8hourly with plenty of water intake along Syp Citralka 2 Table Spoon Full 8hourly, for 5 days. Patients usually respond well to this treatment. If the symptoms persists I request for urine culture sensitivity to know about the antibiotic which is effective agianst the organism.

I hope my answer will help you. Do rate it if you like it.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis's  Response
Hello Annetta,

pain is one of the potential symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI) but usually not the only one. Urgency and frequency are the most common ones. Most patients feel that they need to pass urine right after they've finished the urination. You could do a complete urinalysis (in a lab) or even a urine culture for more credible results. If the urinalysis is suggestive of a UTI then starting an antibiotic is the right way to treat it. AZO may help with the discomfort but it won't fight the infection. The choice of antibiotic depends on the patient's history and recent antibiotic exposure, so I can't suggest any right now. Your doctor is the most appropriate person to do so.

You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.

Kind Regards!
