Suggest Medication To Replace Robaxin, Gabapentin, Prednisone And Duloxetine For Nerve Pain

My wife has extreme nerve pain at night when she is trying to sleep. The pain is excruciating for her. She has seen a neurologist, and waiting to have further MRIs performed. She is taking Robaxin, Gabapentin, Prednisone, and Duloxetine, but still has the episodes at night. Over time we are able to control it with moist heat, but it intensifies so fast that it takes her a while to recover. Is there anything that we can do before she goes to sleep, or after she wakes up with the pain to help prevent these pain episodes?

Hi,

The overall symptoms and the history given here could be suggestive of fibromyalgia. It is a kind of functional disease and not a pathology.

Certain factors are there which is responsible for pain like stress, psychological disturbances, socio-economical disturbances that directly affect the mental status and disturbs the balance. The only drug left is Carbamazepine and it can be tried along with this - It is most important to control one's thoughts. She has to be positive and practical, counselling can be tried.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
