what medicine be prescribed with azithromycin in case of upper respiratory infection in general to reduce its side effects . patient has no previous cardiac history but her age is 76 and she has fever for past 3 days .she is taking rantac 150 mg before meal .

In upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) you should do following things along with azithromycin.
1. Drink plenty of fluids.
2. Avoid oily ans spicy food.
3. Warm saline gargles 5-6 times a day.
4. Take anti histamine drug twice daily.
5. Take anti inflammatory drug twice daily.
