Hi,

As such, there is no best medicine for tb. TB is treated according to guidelines set up by tuberculosis control committee of nation or WHO. Basically, there are six categories of anti-tubercular medication which are given titrated to the pts category and suitability. Usually, rifampcin a first line drug is known to be highly hepatotoxic and could be substituted by rifabutin in case if there is still need to incorporate the medicine in the treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rohan Shanker Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
