Suggest Medications For Constipation In The Elderly Males
my husband is suffering constipation for 2 days now. He can t pee nor move bowel. He took stool softeners last night. Today He took Magnesium citrate, oral sol. 296mL with 81/2 oz. glass of water. He s impatient ,so I gave him diet tea, regular strength with mint tea. He took half it only because he said he feels so full. What shall I do to make pee and have bowel movement? Please help. He s 82 years old.

Dear he may be suffering from acute retention of urine with bowel obstruction due to paralytic ileus. Don't give anything orally please consult your doctor immediately he will do scan abdomen and investigate and treat him accordingly.
