Suggest Medications For High Blood Pressure And Mild Depression For 26 Week Pregnant Woman

Dear Doctor,

I am 26 weeks pregnant, my blood pressure had been high even before pregnancy (140/100). I have been prescribed alpha-dopa 250, 2 gms a day in addition to Arginine tablets. My reading today was 125/95. I have been mildly depressed for the last 2 years but have not been taking any medication for it.I am feeling very anxious, how can I help my baby and me to cope?

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic

In your case, high blood pressure could be due to underline anxiety and in that case, you need antidepressant therapy. That would help you to control blood pressure. You can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. In case, you need further advise, you can ask.

Thanks
