I have a painful lump under my ear lobe, this spot has swollen before and gone down, but that was ears ago, im afraid that this is much worse as the lump is about a inch, came to this size in about 4 days, is very red, gelatinous at the top, hard underneath, and peeling.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Here according to history it could be superficial bacterial infection ....like furuncle or boil ...

It seems to be filled with pus ...
If pus draining than it should be drained as much as possible by pressure. ...

Apply topical antibiotic over lesion ...

Antibiotic oral course also given for five days ....

Keep that area clean with saline ...

Warm compress can be applied. ....

You can apply topical betardine ointment for dressing .....

If no recovery than consult ENT surgeon for examination and if needed incision and drainage done. ...

Take care .....
