Suggest Medications For Recurring Stomach Pain In Childern
my 14 year old daughter is complaining about repeated stomach pain, its mild, middle section of her abdomen. she says that it occurs after she eats, so she cant eat much. its better when she eats fruit in the morning. when she eats yogurt she gets pain.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 14 year old daughter and understood the concerns. Pain in the stomach, mild and in mid abdomen area after eating and particularly yogurt can most probably be due to gastritis. I would advise her the following in such a situation: Get an ultrasonography of the whole abdomen particularly to see for appendicitis, lymph nodes and other organs. Get her started with a PPI like Omeprazole, antacids and see the results. Obviously she has to stop all the foods and beverages that cause her the pains. Tests of blood and stool helps in some cases. Get an opinion of a Pediatrician for clinical diagnosis, correlation with the reports, advise further investigations if any and get a prescription based proper medications and advise.
