Suggest Medications For Swelling In The Calf Of An Elderly Woman
my 81 year old mother is experiencing pain and swelling in her calf muscle. says it is not hot to the touch and no redness. states the swelling goes down at night and returns the next day after she is up and about. she is making appointment to see doctor but is wondering what it could be in the meantime. she lives alone and worries about these things. thank you

An elderly patient with calf muscle tenderness may be due to deep vein thrombosis or restless leg syndrome or anemia or infection etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Get done color Doppler of lower limb then consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
