hello doctor, am in africa and am 3 months pregnant am going through a difficult time with my husband. hes very violent and abussive. we already have a 1yr old son and i dont think i want to bring this baby to this world. please advice me what pill i should take to terminate this pregnancy?
In fact termination of pregnancy by Mifepristone and Misoprostol is very safe, easy and reliable method up to 9 weeks of pregnancy, though according to WHO guidelines, these medicines may be used even after that, up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. However, after 9 weeks, you have to take these medicines under close observation of Obstetrician. May be if they do not succeed, surgical intervention may have to be done.
Please keep in mind that if these medicines fail to terminate the pregnancy then it should be terminated by any other means as continuation of pregnancy is not advised due to the risk of foetal abnormalities.
The other alternative is straight a way to opt for surgical methods.
Whichever option you opt for, please do not implement it of your own. You must take opinion and help of Obstetrician with preparedness to be hospitalized for few days.
I hope this will help you to take safe decision. Please see your Obstetrician without wasting more time.
