But it can be hypothyroidism (under active thyroid) or hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid). You should go for T3, T4 and TSH level. It will give you exact idea.Then you need treatment accordingly.
For hypothyroidism drugs like synthroid are useful. For hyperthyroidism propylthiouracil or methimazole can be taken.
These all are prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
