I have been on 7 different meds to control my blood pressure over the past 2 1/2 years and all have given me severe side effects including trips to the emergency clinic. The last med I was taking was Diltiazem and among the side effects that occurred the worst were extreme weakness and heaviness in my legs, feeling winded when walking and hair loss. I have been off Diltiazem for 1 year and though the side effects have improved greatly - - about 60% - - I continue to experience the weak legs during walks, am slightly winded, and the hair loss is somewhat better. My question - - will these side effects eventually go away ? Am off all meds - - have increased my intake of Omega 3, CoQ10, and added psyllium to my supplements. This has resulted in keeping my BP around 135-l45 (the diastolic is always within range). I am a 70 year old F and am taking no meds.
