Suggest Method To Get Abortion Done

Hello Doc, My sister missed her period this month and was worried about getting pregnant. So, she got a home pregnancy kit for the test and it showed positive. She doesn’t want to continue pregnancy now and this is her second time. What do you suggest now??

Hello dear
Understand your concern
You can use obstetrician prescribed abortion pill after confirming intrauterine pregnancy of less than 9 week by USG. It should be used under proper guidance and observation of health care provider. Do not use at home as self medication because high risk of failure and serious complication.
Method to use:
Day 1: mifepristone 600 mg orally after meal
Day 2: Misoprostol 400 ug should be put in vagina by obstetrician, if required another 400 ug after 4 hour.
Day 7: follow up to obstetrician
Day 14: USG scan for confirmation of completeness of abortion

In future use contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies as repeated abortion can affects the fertility.
Hope this may help you
Thanks and regards
Dr. Sagar
