Suggest Methods To Increase Motor Skills In A Child

I have an 8 year old son, that is an only child. I am a very sports crazy Dad, and my son enjoys sports as well. He does excel at most sports, but unlike some of the kids, he is not a 24 hour sports nut (like me). However, my main question is, he isn t very aggressive in sports. In ice hockey he is very skilled, but lacks that up your butt attitude when he is on the ice. He is not one of those kids who s motor is running on overdrive. If he did, he could be one of the best athletes in his age group. Is there a way to pull some aggression out of him?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
Every child has a different temperament, passion and interests.
I would suggest you let the temperament of your child to have its own course. There is very thin line between motivation and pushing. Stick to motivating him and let his own passion and temperament take over.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
