Hello Doctor, I have one year and two months baby boy. he is not eating the food in daily quantity as he should. and he is becoming weaker and weaker, day by day. my wife and mother are getting conscious about that . and now they are feeding him forcefully in which my baby;s behaviour is getting angry and irritated. so kindly advice me some healthy food for him as wel as proper timing and a way in which he can be happy also. thanks.
14 months old kid's activity and development is more important than weight of the kid. This type of force feeding will make the kid averse towards food. So I suggest you certain things - An active is a well kid even if she/ he is not eating well. Development of a kid is as important as or I would say even more important than growth alone. As the kids grow their interest in food decreases and interest in play activities increases so that they eat small quantity and run away to play. As parents we need to be more patient and feed than less quantity but more aliquots per day. This age rather than the quantity of the food I suggest you concentrate more on the number of times you feed her and also make whatever you feed her calorie dense by adding good amount of ghee to it. I suggest you not to use appetite stimulants on long run as they may cause drowsiness.
