Hi there i am wondering if you could maybe give me some advice for my husband please . He recently had some bloods done & recieved a letter from our surgery saying he was slighty anaemic. He was then asked to make another appointment for bloods to be re done also Ferritin, B12 & folate blood test he was then to attend appointment with gp once they results were back. My husband has been feeling very fatigued & unwell for the past few months , Any activity makes him feel drained . His bones & muscles feel a dead weight he says & has quite a bit of pain , He was on diclofenac ,Though last week after recieving the letter about the anaemia our gp telephoned the house telling him to stop taking diclofenac & just take ordinary pain killers , This morning my husband returned to the surgery for appoinment with gp with regards to his latest blood tests that were done on the 30th june. He has come home very confused & no further forward on whats happening to him . The recent tests are still showing anaemic but his iron levels are ok or something .He has to return in 4 weeks to have bloods redone . In the meantime the doctor has increased his fluoxetine 20mg from 2 a day to 3 a day . Can you please give some information that may help us understand what the results mean . Thank you .
My husband is 57 years old with a history of Angina , Fibromyalgia ,Rheumatoid Arthritis, Depression, & Psorisis .
His medications are :
Glyceryl Trinitrate Spray .
Amitriptyline 50mgs tabs. One in morning : One at night .

Fluoxetine 20mg tabs. These have been increased to 3 a day .
He was on Diclofenac Tabs these were stopped 4/5 weeks ago.
My husbands Mother & Father both suffered heart disease .
He has also had three siblings die all under the age of 50 ,
Two of the brothers died from Ischaemic Heart Disease .
His Sister died on return from holiday abroad originally drs
had thought she had contacted hepatitis but it turned out
her white blood cells were attacking her red blood cells .
I hope this is enough information for you to go on
we would really appreciate any help or advice as it
is really concerning us how unwell my husband has been feeling.
The gp my husband had seen this morning hasn,t got a very nice manner & my husband has never felt relaxed at any time when he sees him .
His own dr who knows him & his family well is never available for him to have an appointment although it was orignally him who had carried out the blood tests as he had says he thought there must be some underlying cause for George to be feeling so weak & unwell all the time .
Thank you so much for your time & i look forward to your reply .
Yours Mrs Janet Anderson Re : Mr George Anderson DOB 05/11/53.
