Suggest Possible Treatment For Hepatitis B

hello sir, i suffered from hepatitis B since 5 years ,plz give me suggesion what wil i do,my parents cannot afford treatment my name is bipin,i belont to jharkhand,i m student ,right now i m in delhi,plz give me feedback,i m very afraid from my future,

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are having chronic hepatitis B infection and probably you are only carrier without much symptoms. In hbsag carrier case, no active treatment is needed. Your following investigation is to be done:

- liver enzymes estimation
- HBEag
- HBV DNA estimation

If liver enzymes is elevated since three to four month and if HBV DNA is high, then it could be an active stage and then only medication like antiviral drug entecavir is needed. If these reports are normal than no medication is needed. Avoid alcohol with maintenance of healthy life style and fruits and green leafy vegetables more. Avoid alcohol.
