Sam smith (the singer) has tonsillitis and cancelled his show today. I have a show tomorrow in chicago with him. Hes rich and stuff.. Is there something he can do to get better tomorrow? He sings really high notes and im worried hes not gonna be able to sing :( :(
There is really very little that can be done to expect any sort of recovery in such a short duration of time. If you are certain that he has tonsillitis then he probably should start himself on an antibiotic (amoxycillin with clavulanic acid) along with paracetamol for 5 days. He may have some recovery after the second dosage.
For something immediate he can start himself on chlorhexidine or dilute betadine oral rinses/gargles three times a day after meals and maintain absolute voice rest till the performance. Voice rest will allow the vocal cords to rest and help in any hoarseness. This is the best management for fastest recovery from a sore throat or vocal cord edema. If he has no hoarseness then the tonsillitis alone may not affect high pitch notes.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further questions.
