I have a large erruption on my cheek that has no head but is hard and sore to touch. I have put compresses on it and drying solution but it does not seem to be helping. Can you help?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore boil on your cheek. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like most boils are caused by Staphylococcus aureus, a type of bacteria commonly found on the skin and inside the nose. Boils sometimes develop at sites where the skin has been broken by a small injury or an insect bite, which gives the bacteria easy entry. For now maintain proper hygiene , apply warm compresses and do not touch or pick the boils. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order sample of the pus to a lab for testing and examine physically . Doctor may prescribe clarithromycin at least for 5 days or may drain a large boil or carbuncle by making a small incision in the tip.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
