Suggest Remedies For Constipation In Old Age

thank you, my 86yr old dad, keeps complaining he has constipation. the dr gave him all sorts of stuff and he still says hes constipated. I see him going to the bathroom and see feces. He says he feels like there is a plug inside him and he cant go.

For constipation problem you have to modify your diet and lifestyle.

Drink more water per day.
High fiber foods like whole grains, oats helpful.
Avoid gaseous foods like cabbages, cauliflower etc.
Bowel habit training is helpful.

Psyllium is helpful for constipation.
Osmotic laxative also can use for constipation.

Eat fresh fruits like kiwi and peach.
After taking this much care still symptoms are present than you have to consent a gastroenterologist for further treatment.
