Suggest Remedies For Dark Patches Around My Mouth

Hi, I have been using Melacare cream from more dan 5 years, for dark spots around my mouth. Now that I have stopped using it, but the dark patch is still there. I have read about the side effects of the cream and understand that my skin must have got damaged. I just want to know, that is there still any way I can reduce the patches. Thanks,

Hello,

I can understand your concern for dark patches around your mouth.

I can get form your history that you have applied melacare cream for long time. This cream contains Mometasone in it which is a steroid and can cause side effects on face.
I first an foremost suggest you to kindly stop this cream as can cause further damage and dependence potential.

I suggest you to do sun protection- it is the first and foremost factor in reducing the pigmentation. I also suggest you to use of good sunscreen daily for 3 times. In my patients I generally prescribe a cream containing Kojic acid with arbutin cream or cream containing mild skin lightening agents.

You can take further guidance form a dermatologist for best help.
