Suggest Remedies For Depression, loss Of Appetite After Starting Concerta
Hey there its Lauren here, Ive just recently started Concerta tablets and im getting terrible side effects like not eating, loosing weight and start crying over little things and im not my self at all very down and all that and family worried. I have to stay on this medication for this year to get better marks how could u help ? Would be great to get some help on this one :) x Regards Lauren
Dear Lauren, Concerta as you know is Methyl phenidate which is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain which contibute to alertness and hyperactivity. What you are experiencing are the common side effects of this medication which include dry mouth, nausea, reduced appetite, headache and insomnia.Aso this medication when used for a long time can lead to drug dependence and withdrawal at later stages on stopping it.If you have been taking this only for the purpose of your exams i would recommend you to discontinue it as there are several other ways to increase your concentration and taking the medication for as long as 1 year may do harm.Do get back to me for further queries regards, Dr.Radhika
