Hi I have a 2 1/2 year old son he still wears diapers and He recently pooped tonight before he went to sleep I changed his diaper the color was light brown ish and he has a diaper rash and its right between his butt crack I wiped with a wipe and I ve noticed slightly bright looked like blood to me. What can cause that to happen? He doesn t poop everyday once every three days he will poop . Diaper rash ointments doesn t work. The doctor said it once it was fungi from the diaper and it is now repeating it self but now slightly blood came out once not too much of blood.
Hi. As per your case history of diaper rash, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't worry, sometimes blood can be seen due to excessive irritation of skin leading to superficial abrasion. 2. Keep that area dry and clean with plain water 4-5 times a day. 3. Don't apply soap or any antiseptic lotion like Dettol on that part. 4. Just apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. Apply a barrier cream like Klinoderm-dpr cream every time after change of nappies.
