Suggest Remedies For Diarrhea While On Atorvastatin
I have been on statins for 20 years-after many complications I was prescribed Lipitor-later I changed Doctors -she changed me to Crestor-2 years ago I changed doctors again and she changed my BP medication and my Cholesterol-I was changed to Atorvastatin starting 10 mg then to 20mg-3 months later to 40mg-3 months later to 80mg-and I questioned this- my levels were basically not that bad-but she was adamant-so I took the dosage-I have had a terrible digestive/bowel problem-taking high dosage of antibiotics and 2 different times -even prescribing my husband for the same medication saying it could be C-dif-with no relief. I quit taking my cholesterol-after 3 weeks I am having normal bm and feel better than I have felt in years. Question is-is extreme diarrhea a side effect of this medication and the high dosage

Statins at this high dose may not cause such severe diarrhea.
Try taking probiotic sachet and anticholinergic agent like Drotaverine.
