I have cartliage pain on my ear quite piercing only lasting a few seconds over a period of a couple of days and then seems to be okay for a week or two and then returns. It only occurs during the colder or winter months - hence my first one for the upcoming winter yesterday May 2014. It feels warm and a slight pain also in the inner ear usual a couple of panadol will help before returning 4 hours later.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history and concerns.
You have cartilage pain on your ear lasting only a few seconds, more so in colder or winter months. There is also slight pain in the the inside of the ear and panadol help for 4 hours after taking it. This looks to be due to entrapment of the sensory nerve supplying to that part of the ear.
The possible treatment is: Keep the ear covered with clothing so that it is not exposed to the cold ear. There is no specific treatment. Neurectomy to this area can help but may not be needed.
