I had an insect bite on the lower part of my lip 5 days ago. At first I thought it was a pimple but at 73 years young I kinda thought this was unusual. Before the day was out it had swollen. It was burning a lot as well. I do not know what bit me. I thought it must have happened during the night. I also have another bite in my right hand, pointing finger. Close to where the finger joins the palm. It is on top of the hand. Swollen and burning as well. My husband cleaned the bedroom from top to bottom. Changed the bed sheets, dusted, mopped, and even shined a spot light oUnder the bed, behind furniture6, etc. He did not find anything dead or alive. After 3 days the swelling had my lower lip so big it covered 80-90% of my top lip so t t and saw a doctor. He prescribed Sulfamethoxazole/TMP 800/160MG TB and Tramadol 50Mag. The dosage amount was twice a day for both of them. That pain medicine was having no impact on my pain so I called him back (Friday after-noon and he prescribed Acetaminophen/Cod #3 (300/30MG) he said if it worsened go to the emergency room. My husband had a prescription for Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325 to take 1-2 every 4-6 hours. I had taken this kind of pain pills a number of times in the past and it helped the most. I was taking 1 every 4 hours around the clock. I didn t even need to set an alarm because there was always enough pain that I was getting snatches of sleep. I have not been able to eat but I have been drinking 2 Ensures a day. I have to put a straw in the corner of my lip because to touch anything to my swollen bottom lip is unbearable. Thank you for taking the time to read all of my information. Will the medicine help me eventually or should I do something different? I look forward to hearing from you.
