Suggest Remedies For Lump On My Inner Cheek After An Injury
Hi, my siter hit me in the face with her purse which had a bottle of water in it. My tooth cut my cheek where there is a hard lump almost like a gulf ball. All other swelling has seem to go since this happened 5 days ago. I am concerned that this lump wont go away! Can you help me!
Understanding your concern. As per your query lump on my inner cheek after an injury is due to formation of hematoma in that region. Lump formation is an inflammatory response of body or secondary inflammation. Take anti inflammatory and analgesic like ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for 3-5 days . Give cold compresses 3-4 times a day . Keep cleaning it with betadine. Hematoma may harden and will resolve with time. If condition doesn't get better in 4-5 days then consult dermatologist or your surgeon for proper examination and to find out if there is infection. Doctor may clean area with hydrogen peroxide and can prescribe antibiotic course (cephalexin ) for a week.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
