Suggest Remedies For Nasal Congestion With Yellow Phlegm And Loss Of Taste

Have been sick for 3 weeks. Started w/sore throat and dry cough that kept me awake nights and exhausted by day. Progressed to nasal congestion and now even after finally getting doctor to give me a z-pack, I can't stop blowing yellowish stuff and haven't been able to smell or taste food for the past four days. Help!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of nasal congestion and loss of smell or taste can be due to infection in the sinuses leading to sinusitis..

As you are given a dose of antibiotic Z-Pak [Azithromycin] that is an appropriate treatment and you should continue the same as advised..
You should also use decongestant nasal sprays like Xylometazolne sprays, do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Saline nasal irrigation can also help..

Oral decongestants like Pseudoephadrine [sudafed] can also be taken..
Gradually as the infection will subside the taste and smell will also regain..
