Hi, I suffer with terrible prickly heat when I go on holiday. Nothing works, I've tried every steroid cream, antihistimine and obviously staying out of the sun. I'm going to Florida for 2 weeks (holiday of a lifetime with the children) and am terrified it will ruin the holiday. Would oral steroids help? Many thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sulochana's Response
I would advice you to bath twice (cold water) with antiseptic soap. Drink melon juice and good amount of water(3l minimum daily). Donnot use oral steroid as you may develop side effects of oral steroids. Wear cotton clothing and loose fitting dress at night. Stay in well ventilated place. Use calamine cream, and continue using steroid cream on affected area. Water based sun-cream is recommended while you are out at florida.
