Suggest Remedies For Reduced Breast Milk Secretion After Taking Antibiotics

Hi, I am 34 years old, my son is 40 days old. Everything was fine till I caught fever 5 days back. I took antibiotic it caused me diarrhoea . Now my breast milk significantly reduced. I don t want him to give formula milk. Pls help me to get back my supply..

Thanks for the query.
Please take plenty of fluids. (milk/coconut water/ water/soups/fresh juices/shakes/lassi /butter milk etc.)as you need roughly 600-800 ml of extra water intake to have a good amount of breast milk.
Add more vegetables and fruits in your diet.
kindly take adequate rest if you can manage easily.
Over exertion and getting extremely tired has a bad effect on milk production in a lactating mother
Try to decrease your stress by whichever style works for you.
Taking 2-3 tea spoons of cumin (jeera) may also help.
Kindly feed your baby as often as the baby demands and you can manage.
If possible, empty your breasts once daily after feeding your baby with the help of a breast pump.
